AbstractEnergy in general plays a decisive role in society development. In particular, electric energy has widespread influence on all aspects of social and economic life and is an important factor in labor productivity growth. It promotes economic development of countries all over the world, especially for developing countries like Vietnam. During the process of national renewal implementation, Vietnam's economy has grown rapidly and people's lives have been improved. Therefore, the demand for electric energy for social and economic development has been increasing. To meet the power demand for social and economic development, national defense and security, the Vietnamese Government approved the national power development plan by Master plan VI and Master plan VII with the vision to 2030. Just as Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group /Petrovietnam Power Corporation was assigned by the Vietnamese government to be the investor of a series of large power projects. It is a difficult work for Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, especially Petrovietnam Power Corporation, member unit of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, assigned by Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group to directly conduct investment and construction of power projects of the Group in the context of lack of resources and not keeping up assigned work requirements. In the framework of this project, I want to apply the knowledge and experience gained to construction investment management of power projects of Petrovietnam Power Corporation. I shall also mention shortcomings in power project management of the corporation and propose several appropriate solutions in order to improve management effectiveness. I would like to emphasize that the information collected from the projects or the list of references is only for the purpose of the report.
