AbstractThis study aims to help the Institute of Mining science and Technology to comprehend the real situation of their accounts receivable management and find the specific solutions for improving profitable and financial safety. The study provides an analysis the managing accounts receivable in IMSAT. The study also points out the factors that impact on the payment delay of customers and the causes of bad debt in IMSAT. There are 3 main reasons that have a big impact on IMSAT financial management of IMSAT such as: no regulation, lack of professional standard, lack of experience. To solve these problems, IMSAT should setup financial regulation about accounts receivable management, improve quality and progress of contracts, invest more in training negotiating course and financial course for managers, strengthen relationship with the customers and Vinacomin, invest on software to control accounts receivable, classify the customer followed the financial capacity from the financial statements of the customers, debt payment history in managing accounts receivable from the internal books and solving the overdue debts of IMSAT in 2013.
