Abstract | There are many kinds of construction project managements and each of them has its own signature process with distinctive problems from the planning to closing. The effective project management is extremely important in determining the success or failure of any construction project. The construction industry in Vietnam is growing rapidly not only domestically but also internationally. In fact, numerous projects are invested in by foreign companies. In order to satisfy all of the strict requirements from international employers, domestic contractors need to improve quality extensively and develop a professional working environment. Understanding in project management, especially in developing new methods, is extremely important in helping project managers avoid all of the threats that may occur at any stages of a project. This study focuses on a basic construction project in Vietnam. Tan Xa Lake Protection and Dua Gai Stream Improvement is considered a single case in this report. The owner of the project is known as Hoa Lac High-tech Management Board and the project’s finance is sponsored by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan. This study focused on construction management to ensure the project would be delivered with the best quality. Several project management methods and recommendations are discussed in this study in order to avoid all of the possible dangers that may occur in a contractor’s poor management. A poor management method would lead to significant menaces that can damage the project quality immensely. The study also covers the environment measurement as an individual issue in a construction site. |
