Abstract | Training of soft skills has been developing fast in Vietnam over the last 15 years. To maintain the leader position in training, AITCV has paid attention to quality control for its training programs. However, quality control has been done on an individual basis in terms of individual course and by individual AITCV sections. An overall view, from different perspectives, and an aggregate synthesis have not been carried out. Thus, this research filled these gaps in order to also assure customer satisfaction in the future. The first objective of the research is to have an overall assessment of course evaluation of all soft skill programs by triangulation of data. The second objective is to understand the reasons for high or low satisfaction levels of the training courses. The study was conducted with the participants of AITCV key staff on AITCV side and customers, both course participants and managers of training and human resources. Quantitative and qualitative methods were applied; including the use of semi-structured interviews for primary data and secondary data in form of the aggregation of summary of course evaluation sheets of 116 courses as covering the year 2011. The finding includes issues of quality control for organization of soft skill training programs, which are discussed in relation to key stages and elements of a course procedure: Training need assessment, developing material, assigning trainers and during the course management principles. The findings of the evaluation - synthesized from different angles of stakeholders - reveal valuable understanding of expectations from clients toward quality in relation with their satisfaction in terms of quality control and course organization. Finally, the study proposes strategies in controlling training programs to AITCV board of management, HR section and middle management level, so that quality can be better controlled and gain more information-rich feedback for higher quality organization of soft skill training programs for AITCV. |
