AbstractWith the rapid growth of banks in Vietnam in about ten years ago, management capacity in banks nearly does not keep up with this growth. It skip the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the banking system. In other words, rapid growth will hide risks for the bank's activities. Especially in the economic crisis, risk management in banks is more important. Risk in banking activities includes: credit risk, financial risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, systemic riskā€¦One of the important problems of risk management in commercial banks is credit risk management that has influenced on the performance of banks clearly. The economies in the world as well as in Viet Nam in 2012 have been very difficult. Non performing loans (NPV) of banks in Viet Nam are very high because of the quality of credit rating. Identify the importance of credit risk, Methodology of research will focus to review the internal credit rating system for corporate customers of ABBANK by combining the comparison with internal credit rating in VIETCOMBANK and BIDV BANK, interviewing the credit director as well as credit staff off ABBANK, analysis to give a comment to improve this system. Through the analysis, comparison and evaluation of the results of interviews as well as the other models, this research will provide weakness of the internal credit rating and propose remedies.
