Abstract | Petroleum Drilling Service Company (hereafter called as "PDSC") is a company limited wholly owned by PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corporation established in 2004 by separating the Logging & Drilling Services Division from PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corporation (hereafter called as "PVD"), developing so fast and efficient in supplying well services to oil companies. It is a must of PDSC to increase the number of high skilled and specialized employees in order to expand the oilfield service business, unfortunately PDSC encounters a serious shortage of employees at the time being while our people resign from PDSC to join other oil companies and oversea competitor service company to get higher salary and benefits. There is too high staff turnover because of many reasons. The research study aims to find out the root causes to solve this brain-breaking issue. The successful and efficient solving of the problem will bring up a competitive HR system that will lay the foundation of sustainable development in the future. The research is completed with the integration of the research works of Strategic, Functional, and Problem Solving cases written during the course attendance. It is developed with the comprehensive understanding and feedback from interviews with HR experts and PDSC's employees. There are many valuable tools and techniques applied in the research like Six Thinking Styles and Cost/Benefit, Brainstorming, etc. I believe this research will be a fruitful addition to offer worthy recommendations of HRM to a number of oil and oilfield services companies operating in S.R. Vietnam who desire to have a sustainable growth in business in type of people-oriented concepts. |
