AbstractThis paper describes how is the position of women at Vietnam Electricity (EVN), and makes a critical study of what disadvantages women face and what they really want through a survey of the female and male staffs at EVN. EVN is a Stated-owned economic group. It has a critical role in supply electricity for the whole country. Through twenty years of operation, EVN has had many policies and activities for enhancing the position of women and equality about gender. On this issue, the author (who works as Human Resources Manager of Sesan Hydropower Development Company, a dependent-accounting subsidiary of EVN) carries out a survey on the position of women at Vietnam Electricity. The analyses resulting from the survey has exposed the disadvantages women face during their working, women’ desires and after that suggested methods to improve the position of women at Vietnam Electricity.
