AbstractThe pressure of the community urges relief practitioners to use available new technologies, as Twitter to communicate with them in emergencies and to pay attention to information broadcast through it. But as this phenomenon is relatively new and evolves rapidly; practitioners don’t have any detachment on this subject and seem to be subjected to it. No mechanism or structure has been edited to integrate Twitter with the official response system. And the lack of framework inhibits the potential of Twitter, and limits its use to punctual actions. In this report, we are going to conduct an initial assessment on the use of Twitter during an emergency from relief agencies point of view. Identify challenges that should overcome aid workers to use the new technology during their response. Finally, we will give recommendations to improve the use of Twitter
