Abstract | The condition of the pavement deteriorates through its ti~e service. The accumulated deterioration can cause the failure of pavement. Periodic condition survey is a technique in which most of highway agencies use in order to identify their actual pavement condition. DOH has developed their own inspection techniques in accordance to the existing TPMS to collect pavement condition. The inspection is performed annually and the collected data get stored in the TPMS for further analysis such as planning the maintenance activities or scheduling. TPMS data collection focuses on the areas of major and minor deterioration, which is considered to be an aggregate level. This research concentrates on improving the pavement data management used by DOH. Several approaches are taken in this research, which are the development of the data flow diagrams and PANDA diagrams in order to determine the interrelationships among the collected data and their inspection procedures. In addition, this research attempts to improve the existing pavement condition assessment techniques used by DOH. In addition, this research presents the modified inspection procedures for DOH in order to be able to identify the pavement distress types, severity and their extent. Route 3144 in the second division - Chonburi province is selected as a study area. |
