Abstract | This research has attempted to determine the 'conscious meaning of movement' in Phnom Penh where four-wheeled public transportation is not introduced yet. Moreover the purpose of the research also included to get an actual picture about transportation conditions in Phnom Penh. This study was focused on demanders side's of view. The data regarding the traffic behavior in Phnom Penh has been collected in the form of a questionnaire survey and analyzed with the help of SPSS. Moreover a comparison was also put into this study in the form of responses received from Cambodian students of AIT, who is using the transportation facilities in Bangkok and felling the differences of the two different systems in Bangkok and Phnom Penh. Furthermore, the analysis was also done to find out the feasibility of introducing a new mode of transportation. While doing so it is understood that application of marketing science techniques would be very relevant. Though the comparison survey with the help of Cambodian students of AIT, revealed that transportation through bus would be a better solution, this study recommends transportation through mini-bus, which could accommodate necessary equipment to make the journey comfortable keeping hot and humid climatic condition of Cambodia in mind. |
