Abstract | From the study, there are two methods of jet grouting in Thailand namely: single and double fluid method, which can be used in soft to very soft soil and loose sand. Jet grouting methods are applied to used in many applications such as: foundation improvement, increasing slope stability, acting as retaining wall, cut-off wall by jet grouted column, strengthening for tunnel excavation. The columns are applied for these applications depending on strength and arrangement. Jet grouting parameters used in Thailand are similar to those from the outside countries but they are adjusted to suit the soil condition of each job site. The grouting parameters in Thailand are obtained from experiences. The quality of jet grouting is controlled in three phases: (1) before construction (2) during construction and (3) after construction. In first phase, the quality is controlled by pull-out and trial test. Secondly, parameters of grouting and accuracy of construction i.e. depth, configuration and orientation are controlled by automatic or manual. And the last, the prope1iies of columns are confirmed by unconfined compressive strength and pile load test. |
