Abstract | In the resent years, Technology Roadmapping is emerging as an important tool contributing to the integration of the business and the technology strategies of an organization. It shows in different layers, the market or applications, products, and the technologies, that the company will be in, with respect to time. Technology Roadmapping can be very useful for strategy formulation. The purpose of this study is to develop a model for technology roadmapping process. The model was framed from the critical success factors for the technology roadmapping process, found in the articles published on the subject and from the technology roadmaps of various companies published on the internet. The model was then validated using expert opinion. Appropriate modifications were made after seeking the expert advice. This model was then used to prepare a questionnaire to assess a French case company on to what extent, lmowingly or unlmowingly, has the company implemented various elements of the model. Top and middle level management people were interviewed personally, along with the questionnaire. Their feedback was used to analyze the status of the technology roadmapping exercise at the case company. Finally, recommendations are made to improve the technology roadmapping exercise at the case company. Report ends with some suggestions for fmiher research. |
