Abstract | Currently, Thailand economic is in the recovery period. The financial sector is a core factor to solve the economic problem. Leasing is one sector of the financial industry. This research studies how the leasing company fit its strategy in Thailand business environment. Standard Chartered Thailand (SCT) has been newly established in October 1996 as Automobile leasing company. Over four years, SCT has changed strategic direction to adapt to Thailand business environment before and after Thailand economic crisis. This research aims to develop the strategies and implement strategy that needed for the future success for SCT. This study analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and competitive strategies of SCT including implementation strategy. The result of this study revealed that SCT strategy should consider Vertical integration and geographical expansion. This strategic direction will conduct the strong relationship among SCT, customers, and dealers. However, SCT hardly use the importance of customer satisfaction by utilizing information technology to reach its goals. Unfortunately, information technology has not been at the core of the company's ability to provide service to its customers. This should be improving as soon as possible to gain competitive advantage of the company. |
