Abstract | Real time applications are usually large and complex systems, raismg . specific issues in software development, and Object orientation has been an answer for the development of large and complex software. Although a formal standard methodology and modeling language have been developed for object oriented programs (Unified Modeling Language), little effort has been made about the specific development of object oriented real time application. This thesis shows, through the development of a real life case study (an embedded real time system) the existing methodologies using Unified Modeling Language (UML). It also proposes a tree-based model for fast process discovery, inherited from the Real Time Object Oriented Model (ROOM) "Actor" model. This model is suitable when process interaction is limited, is very useful from the early design stage, and can easily be incremented. |
