Abstract | In modern programming, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) presents one of the most efficient techniques in overall consideration, and will be the basis for continued development of the FEM program in this study. This version of general purposed FEM program, with functionality adapted from the original Fortran version, the XFEAP program, has been developed from scratch utilizing the OOP concept. The development of the pilot version completed in previous year focus on the architecture of the main program for linear static analysis. To further extend its capability to solve vibration problems, a new eigenvalue solver module based on Lanczos algorithm will be added in this study. The module will be written in the framework of OOP using C++ language. Numerical results and efficiency will be examined by running several examples in comparison with the Fortran XFEAP version. |
