AbstractVisual servoing is a rapidly maturing approach to the control of robot manipulators that is based on visual perception of robot and workpiece location. More concretely, visual servoing involves the use of one or more cameras and computer vision system to control the position of the robot's end-effector relative to the workpiece as required by the task. With pressing need to upgrade quality, productivity and reliability disk drives industries need to use automatic machine to get rid of the problems of manual assembly operation. Visual servoing is one choice to be used for application of intelligent robots. The objective of this study is to design and implement an automated assembly stage in HOD assembly by using visual servoing system for the purpose of building and improving new automatic machine. The main emphasis is given on combining image processing and transmitting the data to the robot controller for performing the assembly task.
