AbstractDue to financial crises in the early 21st century, banks stopped giving loans to individuals in order to be in safe side with risk awareness. Then the industry of Peer to Peer lending came into existence, P2P lending is being practiced from many years between known peers. But coming to 21st century this P2P lending is practiced between unknown peers with the help of a lending platform where lenders and borrowers interact anonymously. These platforms will earn by taking commission as a charge from borrowers and lenders. Even till today some individuals are unable to get bank loans due to various reasons, but they can get loans on P2P lending platforms at low interest rates compared to traditional banks based on their credit score. The world of Internet helps borrowers to meet investors via an online platform, keeping their identity anonymous. With the help of P2P platforms both borrowers and lenders would be benefited mutually. There are different business models which are adopted by different P2P lending platforms which led some of them to success and some to failure. A type of lending practiced in rural India called as Pool to Peer lending which is also a type of P2P lending but practiced between known individuals based on trust.This research study would deal with analyzing different business models adopted by P2P platforms across the world which led them to become successful among others in the market. Helping Hands mobile application is built to help the people in rural parts of India where Pool to Peer lending is implemented manually in group meetings. Helping Hands provides a solution by allowing users/borrowers to post loan requirement on mobile application and get assurance on the requested loan from other users who are willing tol end. Hence,the developed application was built in Android Studio using Firebase as a cloud database.
