| Abstract | Educational Data Mining has become a key factor for predicting students performance in universities. There are many studies which have concluded that predicting students performance outcome will be helpful for faculty to guide the students by giving suggestions, which could improve their performance in progressive way. The literature study provides the depth knowledge of various data mining techniques applied in various universities to predict CGPA, GPA for semesters wise, through which the required methodology and architecture can be applied on research study. The research study consists of comparison of two predictive models, Neural network and Bayesian regression to predict the GPA of currently enrolled students registered for a semester. The evaluation of models resulted that Neural network gave a slightly more better numeric performance measure than Bayesian Regression. The analysis of the result will be helpful for faculty to guide the students and give suggestions to improvise their performance every semester. All the data preprocessing steps are performed in Python Language and methodology is also implemented by using machine learning algorithms in Python. |
