AbstractTo reduce traffic problems , violation reporting should be nearly universal and automatic. With study violation reporting, the violation can be reduced, helping to reduce traffic problems. Instead of conventional violation reporting done by traffic police officers who use conventional cameras, mobile phones can be used to develop an automated violation reporting system. In this research study I describe the development of an Android application solution for traffic police officers to collect evidence of traffic violations. The Android application is connected to a RESTful Web service that allows the Android app to post evidence of violations. The application can take pictures and videos of violations and send them to the Web service as an evidence. The police officer can crop pictures and clip videos, which allows police to focus on submitting the correct violation evidence. In addition to that GPS coordinates and violation note can be added to get more information on violations. This process of automated violation reporting can ease the procedure of ticket generation to violators. An experiment to evaluate the application demonstrated that the main features of the application are working correctly.
