Abstract | ISO 9000 is an international standard documentation system for quality management. It is first established in 1987 and major revised in 1994. Recently, ISO 9000 is adopted in many industries, both manufacturing and services, all over the world. It is the requirement of customers in competitive global market. Especially, it is concerned as a passport to enter global market for developing countries. In Vietnam, although having 78 adopted companies, but ISO 9000 concepts are still hidden in the perception of company's management. They did not aware the benefits of ISO 9000 implementation, and how to adapt ISO 9000 as an international standard in their own companies. Among 78 adopted companies, most of them are foreign investment companies, while there are many barriers inhibit the implementation process at state-owned section, such as understanding and knowledge about ISO 9000, human resources, technological level, existing quality system, financial resources etc. This research study conducted two cases study in two state-owned companies. They are in rnbber products manufacturing industry. They are successful in ISO 9000 implementation. One of them also qualified for ISO 9000 certificate after reassessing (every 6 months) . . The ISO 9000 implementation is broken down into detail topics to help the other companies to get an exciting learning lesson. These topics are the main reasons for adopting ISO 9000, the implementation process, the roles of top management, success factors and inhibitors of ISO 9000 implementation, the costs involved and benefits recognised after implementing ISO 9000. |
