Abstract | The international economic and financial crisis happened in 1997 has caused many difficulties for firms and governments in boosting up its economic development. It was more seriously for Vietnam, a new economy has been pursuing transition process to more open and more market oriented. The situation now is getting better. Many opportunities and also threats are waiting for enterprises. Strategic planning is not much concerned by high manager of many state-run enterprises where they are familiar with old thinking. Hanosimex is one of them. Seeking the right way to get bright future is the main objective of the research. The right way here is appropriate strategies, which aim at building long-term competitiveness for the company in the textile and garment industry. The research is started at scanning global environment with examining some corporate strategy examples in the industry to figure out the trends and its implications for corporate strategies. And then some works has been carried out to get appropriate information of Vietnamese economy and textile/garment industry, what are trends and implications for strategic planning. The research is finished with giving proposed strategies at both corporate and business level, including some recommendations for Hanosimex. |
