AbstractThe Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology - FPT, the market leader of IT industry in Vietnam has been facing the challenges of how to maintain its predominant position in the domestic market and at the same time expand its business beyond the national boundary, in the context of rapid development of IT industry and fierce competition in the field. To be prepared for this, FPT plans to increase the number of its human resources to ten times bigger than the current level in the coming five years. An effective motivation policy is seen vital to achieve the company's ambition with a view to satisfy its employees and to enhance the performance of its workforce. This study aims to examine FPT current elements of motivation policy. A large part of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of FPT current motivation practices on employee performance and productivity by identifying the gap between the company's intention on human resource management and the attitude of FPT employee on this issue. Another part of the research is to survey the personal motivation of FPT people which will provide the platform to build a motivation policy that will satisfy the employees and enhance their performance.
