Abstract | Worldwide, electronic commerce (EC) has emerged as a new form of economic activity removing the barriers of time and distance with the widespread use of Internet. Electronic commerce, the digital revolution which has the potential to radically change the economic activities and the surrounding social environment, is now leading a paradigm shifts in economy and society. But reliable and internationally comparable statistics that measure the level, growth and composition of electronic commerce are lacking, mostly because of dynamics and rapid growth of electronic commerce The purpose of this research is to contribute to the issues associated with measuring the electronic commerce in response to the growing needs for statistical information. First the study presents brief overview of electronic commerce and some issues relating to definition and measurement of the electronic commerce. Then some official statistics from heralding countries as Australia and Singapore, and a university research statistics are studied. And finally, the framework is proposed to develop official statistics in Korea |
