AbstractThis research proposes a model applicable to the interference scenario when interference is presented from Non-GSO/MSS feeder link system on GSO/FSS system. Since, unlike the case of traditional GSO satellite, the relative geometry between Non-GSO satellites and earth stations or among Non-GSO satellites is not fixed, therefore the interference scenario is considered as time variant. The case study in Thailand is considered between Non-GSO/MSS feeder link of IRIDIUM and ICO systems and GSO/FSS system of the Communication Authority of Thailand (CAT), which the frequency allocation in Ka band are shared by both systems. The interference analysis can be useful in observing that how GSO/FSS system of CAT will suffer from interference generated by IRIDIUM and ICO feeder link systems before all systems are fully operated. Since the attenuation caused by rain has strong influence at the frequency allocation in Ka band, the rain-induced attenuation is included in the interference analysis. For the analysis of the carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I), the number of visible interfering Non-GSO/MSS satellites is important. The co-frequency and co-directional sharing at the Ka band is technically possible in the case of clear sky condition. In the case of rain attenuation being considered, the link outage occurs for some fraction of the time
