AbstractA Rolling Injection Seeder A2MBBP AP was developed by the Center for Development of Agricultural Engineering (CDAE), Serpong, Indonesia. The seeder was attached to a power tiller. There were some problems during the use of this seeder. First, it could not work well in dry soil with cone index greater than 294 kPa. Second problem was the operator had to bend over when operating this seeder. This research was undertaken to overcome these problems. A modified seeder was constructed from the original seeder and was attached to a power tiller with one operator. A prototype of modified seeder had one injector polygon unit and a metering roller. Actual field capacity and efficiency of the modified seeder was slightly higher than the original seeder. The efficiency of the original seeder was 68.4% while that of the modified seeder was it 71.3%. The depth of the hole of the modified seeder ranged from 3 to 5 cm. Slip values of the modified seeder ranged from 4.17 to 5.80% while for the original seeder it varied from 2.86 to 3.76%. Uniformity of seed dropping for both seeders was almost the same. The operator was more comfortable while using the modified seeder than using the original seeder. The modified seeder was operated minimum 700 hours per year supposed it cost lower than average cost of corn seeding by using manual labor
