Abstract | today's maintenance and reliability community, most of industries already use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to run their day-to-day operations. CMMS has proven to be an indispensable tool in the management of manufacturing, institutional, and commercial facilities. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is quickly becoming the fastest growing segment of the software industry. CMMS allows small to medium operations not only achieve higher yields but also better operational effectiveness of equipment through better asset management. CMMS designed to assist in the coordination, control and monitoring of equipment maintenance activities. CMMS allows scheduling of maintenance tasks, tracking work orders, and managing parts inventory. The resulting benefits include reduced downtime, increased equipment life, and lower overall maintenance costs. Another thing that has changed with time is the scheduling and tracking of work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, labor, and material management. As more and more people within the enterprise need access to that info1mation, it has moved from the filing cabinet in the basement to the Network and Internet. Access is everything. Timely access is imperative to keeping costs low and profits high. In this research study, mainly focusing on CMMS implementation of one particular Company, Total Myanmar Exploration and Production. The Author conducted interview findings and technical conceptual data are analyzed. Based on the finding competitive advantages and effectiveness of CMMS are identified for the Company. Along with identification of competitive advantages, other important aspects of research objectives such as identify strategies to find out clitical success factors for successful implementation of CMMS system and continuous improvements are analyzed and discussed. A thorough investigation of CMMS system use in maintenance operations was conducted at the beginning of the project to determine overall ability to support effective planning and scheduling. According to the data analysis, the CMMS system has been developed to reduce labor and material costs, improve scheduling and planning work, effective budget planning for Maintenance Department, easy to analyze failure analysis of equipment and increase productivities of the workforces in maintenance operations. More over improvement of CMMS system will help to future global integration of Company business activities such as ISO registration, E-commerce, ERP implementation, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). |
