| Abstract | Textile industry plays a vital role in the economic development of Bangladesh. About 80% of foreign income come from textile sector. There are 3.2 million people work in this industry Moreover this is the only sector where about 70% of worker are woman (in garments sector 95%). Quality is the most important factor of any business. Market development and the existence of business depend upon the quality of product and service. In this century of e-commerce, information is open to all and competition is much high than previous. Only those companies can compete in the market that can produce quality products in a cost-effective way. This research study reveals the actual cost of quality of Knit Fabric Manufacturing Textile Industry of Bangladesh. For a clear understanding of the cost of quality, definitions of COQ elements in context of textile industry are quoted and data are collected from three companies of three major industrial zones of Bangladesh. All data are analyzed as well as quality activities and management activities are discussed. At the end of the study some recommendations are suggested which might be helpful for implementing Quality Improvement Program (QIP) in those companies as well as other companies in this sector. |
