Abstract | The Medical- Tele- Analyser is a two side operating system, one side is the doctor side, the other one is the patient side. Both sides interact by sending and receiving position data from each other. On the doctor side a force control system takes care that the force at the doctor's hand is the same as that one at the patient's abdomen (force command signal). At the patient side a displacement control system follows the movement of the doctor's hand (position command signal). The force at the patient side is measured as deformation of a spring, the same deformation is realized by the force controller at the doctor side with pushing the system against the doctor's hand. If the force generated by the doctor's hand is higher than the force at the patient side the system will drive down (to reduce the force at the doctor's hand) until the balance of force is reached. This displacement is copied by the displacement controller at the patient side. As actuator a DC-motor is used, which is controlled by a varying PWM- (Pulse With Modulation)signal. The task of the control algorithm is to give the system the right behavior so that the doctor has an accurate impression about the abdomen of the patient. It is necessary that the system smoothly follows the hand of the doctor and gives him the right force impression. As subject of this thesis two controllers are designed and implemented on microcontrollers at both sides without any changes of the hardware. Subsequently the system behavior with these controllers is tested and evaluated. |
