AbstractThe object of this research study was to establish a connection between corporate reporting practices and sustainable development in the practices of Asian firms. Information about corporate reporting practices was gathered from the literature on sustainable development and adapted from the diverse topics included in the subject of sustainable development and focused on the corporate environment. Data from the study was collected from the corporate and environmental reports published on the corporate websites of 57 companies from companies in the Asian region, including Australia and New Zealand. The analytical model used was from the standards developed by the Global Reporting Development, a global standard organization developed by the Coalition of Environmentally Reporting Economies (CERES). Data was then analyzed using multivariate statistical methods to obtain useful observations about reporting practices among Asian companies. Results included a strong relationship between Vision and Strategy and Environmental Perfo1mance, and the relationship between a company's Policies, Organization and Management System and their reported Environmental Performance. Furthermore it was found that Sustainability has more of a PR influence than a key value of corporate environmental practices.
