Abstract | Vietnam stock market (VSM) was established one year ago, it is supporting to the Vietnam economy move to wards the establishment of a market economy. What is the Vietnam stock market carried out in the last year have showed the remarkable growth. Accompanied with the innovation in the economics, Vietnam stock market has presented some good clues for development. Even though now there are still some difficulties, the Vietnam stock market has to face and solve, but the establishment and development of VSM are showing the right direction supporting to mobilization the capital for Vietnam economy. This research is to get an overview of Vietnam stock market with the focus on the operation of Hochiminh Stock Market. We concentrate on the operational vehicle and regulatory framework. It introduces the recent situation of Vietnam' primary and secondary market, major issues to be addressed including their development, performance and prospects. Currently, stock market is an essential way for completing the innovation of the Vietnam state owned companies. Privatization or equitisation is the way to establish the socialist oriented market economy. Some conclusions and recommendations are given from the study. The study also provides the basic for further study of an emerging capital market and privatization. |
