Abstract | India is a growing economy and developed a dramatic change in the construction industry. In India construction sector has acted as an engine of growth for the Indian economy for over the past five-decades and becoming a basic input for the socio-economic development of the country. So, with these increase in construction projects, Indian construction industry is experiencing widespread delays. Due to dramatic shift in the capacity and volume of the Indian construction sector over the last decade, the need of a systematic analysis regarding the reasons of delays and developing a clear understanding among the industry are highly crucial. In this study, the concentration has been focused on residential building projects which are mostly experiencing schedule delays. There are many factors which are affecting schedule delays in residential building projects, but using a selected set of 28 attributes, this research study will identify the key factors impacting schedule delays in Indian residential building projects. This study aims to analyse the factors affecting schedule delays using questionnaire and will also analyse the difference between medium and large sized companies how the factors are affecting schedule delays in residential building projects. Mean & ranking is done to find the top critical factors and factor analysis were used to examine the grouping among the 28 schedule delay factors and finally t-test is conducted to know the difference between the medium and large size companies how they are affecting due to schedule delays in their residential projects. |
