AbstractThe Travel and Tourism is one of the important industries especially for developing countries, because it is the main sources of foreign exchanges. The travel and tourism indushy is the number one in te1ms of number of employees engage and earnings. In order to obtain the maximum benefits from the indushy, it is vital to provide ath·active and friendly services to customers. Development of Internet Technology provides lot of opportunities for all industries. The Internet has provided a good oppo1tunity for developing countries to promote the national tourism in very cost effective & attractive way. Introduction of the Third generation of mobile technology enables a sophisticated customer services at anytime and anywhere. The number of mobile device users around the world is rapidly increasing. Therefore value of the mobile transaction will increase in future. Customers want to access services via mobile devices in order to minimize time and expenditure, and also to take advantages of obtaining services at anytime and anywhere in the world. The efficient online booking service of an airline is vital for attracting potential customers while improving the existing service to its present customers. This study is to find possible inh·oduction and promotion of mobile commerce in national flag carrier of Sri Lanka.
