AbstractLocation Based Service (LBS) is the ability to find the geographical location of the mobile device and provide services based on this location information. The wireless application of the location based services in Thailand has no graphic and multimedia yet. In this study, geographic information system (GIS) and map generalization were combined for creating the graphic map. The map graphic and text data were generated spatial information service for mobile phone based on Wireless Application Protocol (W AP) version 2.0 which support color image and multimedia messaging service (MMS). Then the spatial information service, a case study of this thesis are designed and created by text based retrieval and graphic based retrieval which can be shown map image and animation of target place.
