| Abstract | Post-privatization restructuring of state-owned enterprise (SOE) encompasses both short-run "defensive" actions and long-run "strategic" measures. This research is one case study of BMCC, analyzing the restructuring of SOE after they incorporated into joint-stock company. This study assesses people's awareness relating to restructuring organization via employee questionnaires, manager questionnaires and top management interviews. Moreover, this research measures current operation results by collecting and analyzing records of company in the past and present. The records comprise finance, manpower, equipment, law documents, strategies, organizational structure and experience documents including some letters of appreciation from the clients. Then the research proposes restructuring program based on the company's current situation. Restructuring involves changes in corporate governance, organizational structure, management, labor, capital, technology, output, and sales. The combination of the top management's feedback, some professionals' confirmations and various performance indicators may gauge the results of restructuring, but utmost care is required in the selection and interpretation of performance indicators. |
