AbstractGovernance is the process of governing by using authority to enforce the rules by formal organization and processes of interaction as well as decision making among participants in a collective problem. By means of governance, the order can be achieved to realize mutual gains and to mitigate conflict in a relationship. According to nature, the construction industry is unpredictable and dynamic as there are complex situations between contracting parties. In accordance with contractual governance, all the ambiguities and fundamental complexities related to handling contracts can be fixed effectively. Besides, contractual governance is also represented as a mechanism to promote the relationship between contracting parties. When designing a contract to use in a practical situation, the contractors are going to take more risks and responsibility than the owners. So, most of the former researches explained that can harm the relationship between contracting parties. The purpose of this study is to investigate the components of contractual governance and the relationship of contractual governance on the cooperation, trust, and commitment of contractors in construction projects. For this research, the samples will be from construction projects in Myanmar. Moreover, the researchers distinguish the contractual governance into three components such as contractual control, contractual coordination, and contractual adaptation. These research findings can provide information for the owners on how to apply the contractual governance mechanisms. This study is using quantitative by collecting data of 60 projects to analysis in correlation method and the qualitative method by using one case study via face to face questionnaires in Yangon, Myanmar. According to the finding, it can be pointed out that contractual governance has a correlation with cooperation, trust, and commitment of contractors
