AbstractA large number of fare discounted campaign were launched to increase the elevated mass transit ridership, free shuttle bus service is another kind of promotion which provides as an accessible and convenient facility. The study of travel behavior of present users is the important information to identify service accomplishment and as guides to find the appropriate service improvement. The information comprised of socio-economics, trip characteristics and opm1ons toward the shuttle bus service obtained directly by means of interview survey. The results from the study can be divided in two parts. The first part is results of travel behavior of mass transit users by comparison periodic data with the recent study. It was found that ooccasional users changed to be frequenters. The majority of users use a feeder to complete their journey, which bus serves as a major feeder. In the second part, the application of panel data approach was introduced in before and after study for shuttle bus service. The study found that the service capture new mass transit users. The goodness of shuttle bus includes convenience and comfort, and free service, whereas, two drawbacks of shuttle bus use are its inadequate route and public relation.
