Abstract | The aim of this paper is to define areas in the biggest economies within the Asian region which are in need of reform. Research will concentrate on a mix of historical political and economic aspects which are thougt of as being crucial in defining each country's peculiarities. In doing so qualitative and quantitative data will be analised. Problem is many of the aspects we are trying to analyse, like assessing the legal structure of a certain country, or the bureaucracy and the barriers to start up a business, are difficult to be dealt with objectively. Pait of the job will therefore be, to find indicators that undertake that task and explain how they do it. Based on trade theories that consider incentives in an economy to create additional human capital and to invent new productivity procedures, to be the key towards economic growth, we will try to conclude the necessity for certain meassures and reforms to be unde1taken. Countries chosen to conduct the analysis are Japan, China and India. Multiple valuable lessons can be extracted for China and India on their way to development, out of Japan's very pa1ticular case; albeit achieving to become the second biggest economy of the world, it still faces the longest recession ever known. |
