Abstract | Science parks are also known as technology or research parks, or innovation and science and India has been a key contributor to the software industry whose software exports touched 9.5 billion USD with about 26% increase from the last fiscal year. There are currently about 700 parks worldwide. One among them is a society under the government of India called the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). The location of software parks in itself is a promotional ingredient. This research has been aimed at exploring the brand software technology park at Bangalore. The significance of location versus the facilities made available by the STPI is examined to assert the importance of each of them. THE Software Technology Parks ofindia (STPI) has played an important and dominant role in the emergence and development of Indian software industry Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), is a society set up by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India in 1991, with the objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting the Software Exports from India. STPI-Bangalore contirbuted 30% of the total software exports from India. From the research study, it is observed that STPI-Banaglore is more like a government organization for providing tax reliefs and export benefits for software companies established under STPI-Bangalore when it is expected to function like a technology park .Certain suggestions are included in the report for STPI-Bangalore to build a strong brand name for itself and to compete with other international technology parks. |
