| Abstract | Communications Network Technologies for rural areas is playing important role in the provision of telecommunication services such as phone services, distance education etc. In addition, it has to contribute to the triggering and sustaining economic development, and to generally improve the quality of life in rural and remote areas. There are many technologies suitable for providing telecommunication services in rural areas, but no current system or technology is capable of delivering all of these services to all areas. Also, the technology suitable is dependent on individual case due to the differences in localities etc. One of the technologies that is popular is wireless communication technologies, such as fixed wireless access (FWA) and very small aperture terminals (VSATs), which are effective means of establishing telecommunication networks in rural areas due to their advantages over wired telecommunications in terms of cost and ease of installation. Some Sub-districts in Phu Yen province such as Ea Lam, Song Hinh, Phu Mo, Phuoc Tan, Ca Lui, An Xuan, An Linh are rural/isolate/remote areas of Vietnam in which there is no telephone line. Therefore, bringing telecommunications services in these areas is essential to reduce the barriers of distance and economic development, improve the quality of life in these sub-districts. This research study give a planning of transmission link based on fixed wireless access (WLL) and VSAT technologies to bring telecommunication services to rural areas of Phu Yen province. |
