AbstractWomen today represent almost half of the world workforce but there are only fe111 women occupying the managerial level especially the top-level position. This exploratory study investigated women managers' involvement in deci sion-making, their career paths and the obstacles that hindered their advancement in the corporate level. There is no doubt that more and more women were working as managers. Nevertheless, many sti 11 considered that management was typically a male occupation. In Thailand, women were known to have played a significant role in the society. Their roles have changed over time due to external and internal influences. Thailand has produced a system in which women have been able to receive the same employment levels, promotion prospects and share of economic wealth with their male counterparts. This study presented the women managers of the Thai Commercial Banks. Indepth interview were conducted to the managers to be able know the situation of women in the banking industry, their current roles, successes and fai lures and future prospects. The findings of this research will help women managers and the Human Resource Management in their plight to be successful in the field of management.
