AbstractRailway management system (RMS) is a systematic process and consistent method that can help engineers in decision-making process for selecting MR&R strategies. The railway management system is composed of a principle module as database module which provides flexibility and consistency of collection and organizing data. Database module acts as the central database which effectively stores, retrieves, updates, edits, and transfers data. This data can be used to analyze the future performance of track structure that is affected by various factors. In order to develop and increase efficiency of railway management in a systematic planning for SRT, this research develops a prototype GISbased railway management system. The collected data that is stored in the central database is the track irregularities and the track quality index obtained from the track inspection car exhibiting the track condition of SRT. The database module is linked with spreadsheets software for analyzing track deterioration, selecting the proper MR&R activities and performing multi-year or year-byyear planning. Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design is a visual communication which helps the connection between users and the system. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system to can increase graphical capability of the railway management system.
