AbstractThis research aims to establish the applications of computer networks. Using TCP/IP Winsock and Visual Basic 6 programming creates communication between teacher (as server) and students (as clients) in a graphical user interface (GUI) for CNC milling machine training. In this case, OpenCNC Software adds an advantage function to learn on real CNC machine become easier. The benefit, which we are going to gain, is trying to design a GUI. Here, the purpose of OpenCNC is not just to provide interface that's already installed in the server to run the machine, but also lets the clients able to watch the control windows that's transferred. So it will make this GUI more complete and more visible. Since this software will give information of any changes that happened while the machine runs. The information here is: current axes position, on duty block program, and mill-operator panel. The GUI design is used to accommodate a tutorial on NC-programming in the modular training. The teacher and students can reach the modular learning environment via internet connection. The teacher from his PC can watch the student while they are on programming, program to all, and also send/receive messages each other.
