AbstractIn this research, a control chart based on fuzzy reasoning to monitor the performance of a discrete manufacturing process has been constructed. This control chart focuses on three input factors that affect the quality of product namely, man, machine, and material. These factors have been processed through three steps: The first step is called fuzzification, all input parameters of factors must be translated into linguistic variables. The second step is called fuzzy inference step evaluates the set of if-then rules that define quality system behavior. The last step is the defuzzification step that translates this linguistic result into a real value that represented the level of quality. The process of model building has been developed from static model to advanced model sequentially. The static model mentions only main factors meanwhile the advanced model has been modified with random factor so that it describes the process more closely. The fuzzy logic-based control chart model that has been constructed that can monitor process and give out the result closer to the reality than that of the other control chart in term of average of nonconformity at Sony Vietnam Company. Besides, the result has an overview about some levels of the reason that cause products nonconformity.
