| Abstract | This work is concerned with the management of capacity in a case study applied to Vietnam Hungary Electric-machinery Manufacturing (VIHEM) Company, which is located in Vietnam. The major problems on the shop floor in the company are unbalance of operation and low efficiency of resources. This study focus on analysing the current performance measures of shop floor and proposes alternatives to improve the machine utilization, manufacturing lead time, work in process and output rate. In this study, the author also summarises some facts and figures in the company's material inventory management, which was done by author, with hope that this it could be considered by company's managers. The company's manufacturing system is modelled and analysed by a queuing network. |
