AbstractNeural network has been proposed as a computational model for solving a wide variety of problems in field as diverse as combinatorial optimization. This study presents the model for scheduling clutch machining process which concerns with a job shop manufacturing system. Presently, the schedulers plan the schedule which does not follow any scientific method for scheduling purposes. The problems result into machine idle time and over load on some machines. The objective of this study is to apply a new method of solving optimization problems in scheduling, named neural network, that improves machine utilization and code the computer program for the model. The comparison between the results of the algorithm and existing procedure shows that the total setup times is a little bit greater than result from formal software as LINGO, but the solving time is improved very much by comparing the number of iterations. It indicates that neural network can be use in practice of production scheduling.
