AbstractMost of the economical, industrial, financial or political decision problems are multi-criteria. For example, nobody buys a car based on the price only (financial criterion); the comfort, the quality, the performance, the prestige ... are obviously always taken into account. So, a selection model should rather use multi-criteria than single one. Several research papers have been written on the justification and the selection of projects, such as Buchanan, J. et al. (1999) with a method based on ELECTRE III, or Brans, J.P et al. (1 994) with a method based on PROMETHEE, or some methods based on Analytic Hierarchy Process. In these approaches, the input data is considered as exact ones. In other words, these approaches consider the possibility that events resulting the data are absolute. In fact, everything can change at any time. This research aims at developing a model for ranking projects based on fuzzy set theory. In the proposed model, fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach has been used to get the best-ranked project.
