Abstract | Application of CAD/CAM in manufacturing engineering has been a modern trend for improving product quality, productivity, and reducing lead-time in manufacturing science. Creating an "Intelligent tool for automatic design of injection mold" is one of specific research of application the CAD/CAM system into the process of design an injection mold. In the present study, the intelligent tool was developed in order to reduce design time for an injection mold. The tool was constructed by rules and programmed by MSVC++ based on considerations of heat transfer, fluid engineering and economic aspect. The protocols for creating interface between the textual injection mold parameters with CAD/CAM software of Unigraphics for showing the geometry of injection mold were mentioned as well. The application of this "Intelligent tool" in designing a top cover mobile phone injection mold was done as a case study. |
