Abstract | Recently, encountering with extremely competitive, dynamic, and complex environment and rigorous demand of customers in reaching their expectation, have imposed severe burdens on construction organizations to survive and prosper in the industry. Construction organizations, as project-based organizations, therefore need to pay attention on their systems to successfully deliver projects. Although it is important for construction organizations to initiate a plan for improving performance of their project delivery system, there is still lack of systematic framework that provides integrated view for construction organizations to develop and improve their project delivery systems as a whole. In order to understand how the current systems are being operated together with strength and weaknesses of the systems considered as the basis for designing of reliable improvement strategy, this study, based on theoretical concept and standard practices, took a step to develop the framework for Construction Project Delivery System (CPDS), which have been used as a guideline to analyze effectiveness as well as deficiencies of the existing systems. Finally, the identified effectiveness and deficiencies could be used as beneficial input to propose recommendations for Construction Project Delivery System (CPDS) performance improvement in the construction organizations. |
