AbstractParticipation of women is wanted in an active form in Integrated Pond Fam1ing (IPF) activities. Due to the socio-cultural, economical and institutional constraints/ ban-i ers women's are not too much active in IPF activities. Women still required permission for most decisions involving household activities and expenditure and this is the severe constraint to their fu ll participation in IPF activities. Bangladesh is a male dominated society so that male permission is always required to go anywhere. Usually women's mobility is restricted in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a Muslim country. Muslim women's mobility more restricted than other religions. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of training and extension strategy and approach that promote the women's involvements in IPF production and decision making under PBAEP compare to non-project women's. To examined the different roles and activities between project and non-project women and assessed factors that affected women's involvements in IPF. Impact of training and extension strategy are increased training attendance of both women and men (75%) and increased their knowledge for male 74% and female 73% at Kalapara (based on knowledge test of non- IPF and IPF for Kalapara) where as over all training knowledge for male 81 % and female 78% for the whole project area. Technical training anendance of Nilgonj union is less than Dulashar union that is statistically significant. Women's roles and activities are different for IPF and non-IPF farm households. Due to project intervention IPF women's involvements in productive roles are increased than non-IPF women's that is statistically significant. Impact of PBAEP project on decision-making change is very little between IPF and non-IPF. Impact of women's involvements in IPF activities and decisions making on IPF and households resources are increased. Still there is a scope to improvement but side-by-side has some socio-cultural, religious, economical and institutional barriers to resists improvement. Project should be created people participation/mass awareness to remove all sorts of barriers. Project should be taken accounts of women's triple roles and take initiative to balance it. Create work-sharing system in domestic work for reducing women overburdened workload and scope for doing productive work, earn money to change subordination position of women in IPF. It should be taken into consideration for active and sustainable participation of women in IPF production.
