Abstract | This work presents numerical calculation models the influence of mechanical properties of soil materials in the deformation analysis of ground and soil structures. The transient response behavior of seabed to sea wave loading is a target problem of this study. Since soil is multi-phase material, there are some variations for modeling soil depending on problem and analytical conditions. Four types of constitutive model: u-w-p, u-p, u- and w-p models are selected. In each model, numerical solutions are developed by using finite difference method (FDM) in static, and quasi-dynamic both in 1-D with finite depth and 2-D with infinite depth. For comparative examination of calculation results, the applicability of each type modeling is discussed regarding influence factors such as frequency, permeability and degree of saturation for different types of soils. Results of numerical model are verified by compare with analytical solution for different constitutive modeling and conditions. Good agreement between analytical solution and nume1ical solution is observed for most of the constitutive model and conditions. The results of this study suggest that the wave loading on a permeability seabed can alter the effective stress state throughout the bed and may affect the stability of bottom sediments. |
